Victoria Angel Registry of Hope is a public cord blood bank that accepts donated samples from Toronto-area pregnant parents.
Victoria Angel’s public cord blood program is FACT accredited and has passed multiple regulatory inspections by Health Canada. The quality system has been designed and managed by Dr. Elisabeth Semple, a FACT accreditation inspector with over 35 years of experience in cellular therapy.
Samples that meet world-wide standards for public banking are processed, stored, and HLA typed. All non-conforming samples are directed to scientific research projects including Hospital for Sick Children, University Health Network and Canadian Blood Services.
Victoria Angel’s samples are listed on Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide (BMDW) since August 2013. The NMDP (U.S.A.) has issued Victoria Angel’s program with an IND designation making cord blood units available to American patients in need of treatment.
